Lodestar Minerals (LSR) is about to launch a new surface exploration program on its Coolgardie West project.

The Coolgardie West Acquisition is located in the “highly endowed” gold districts of the Eastern Goldfields in Western Australia.

The program aims to confirm a major two-kilometre-long lithium-cesium-tantalum (LCT) soil anomaly, following a reconnaissance visit to the site last December. The pegmatite was not mapped, and there were no records of previously identified pegmatites in the tenement.

As such, the program will include mapping and field sampling within the anomaly to confirm the LCT potential, while evaluating the potential for hard rock lithium mineralization.

Lodestar has engaged contractors to carry out a soil geochemistry program to fill the kilometric gold anomalies identified by the sampling program. The program will fill anomalies on a 200 meter by 200 meter grid while expanding into untested areas.

“This is one of the most compelling lithium soil anomalies I’ve seen,” said Lodestar chief executive Bill Clayton.

“The next phase of exploration at Coolgardie West represents an exciting progression designed to provide robust and accessible drill targets for both lithium and gold that can be quickly tested upon grant of the property.”

The program is due to start this month.

Lodestar Minerals last traded at one cent on March 2.
