Bhubaneshwar: The economic crimes wing arrested one person in connection with the bogus loan application case. The accused was identified as Nitin Mallik.
Mallik was arrested within the confines of Harinagar Police in New Delhi. It has been reserved under Sections 294/384/420/467/468/471/120-B of the IPC and Section 66 (D) of the Computer Act.
The accused was brought before the Metropolitan Chief Magistrate’s Court, Tis Hazari Court and brought to Bhubaneswar for remand today.
The accused will be brought before SDJM Bhubaneswar today, reports said.
Malik is the director of M/s Good Start Business Services, a company operating illegally as a digital lender.
“He was being sued by Chinese nationals for engaging in illegal business. Mallik was in direct and regular contact with at least three Chinese nationals and received a huge sum in salary for this work,” the EOW added.
Illegal loan apps provided short term loans to people instantly. They mass message people and insist on downloading their apps for instant loans without any verification.
