Brightstar Resources (BTR) has started drilling the Cork Tree Well project in the Laverton district of Western Australia.
The company completed eight holes on the Delta 2 prospect, which targets untested bedrock beneath an air core anomaly that extends up to 500 meters strike.
Four more holes will be completed on the prospect, before the drill moves to Cork Tree Well.
Here he will complete a 50-hole program, which will investigate flared and parallel vein opportunities identified in previous drilling, and extend drilling along strike of the main deposit.
Managing Director Bill Hobba said the drilling will open up new opportunities for the project.
“We look forward to developing the current Cork Tree Well main vein resource with this program as well as discovering new opportunities in the project area,” he said.
“Ideally, this will allow Brightstar to develop multiple mining scenarios to power Brightstar’s factory, which is currently undergoing upkeep and maintenance.”
In addition, the company has appointed Dr. Nigel Brand as geochemistry and targeting consultant for the Comet Well project area.
His role will be to review geochemical data to determine new exploration programs for the project area.
Shares of the company rose 4.55% to trade at 2.3 cents at 11:13 a.m. AEST.
