The Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation launched an online loan deposit system for clients on Sunday.
Deposit can now be made using Sonali Bank Limited’s sonali e-seba payment gateway via debit and credit cards or mobile wallets.
The online service system was launched during a program held at the Purbani International hotel in the capital, Dhaka.
The Minister of Finance AHM Mustafa Kamal practically inaugurated the system.
BHBFC loan disbursements, salable form prices and fees can now be paid online from anywhere instantly, officials at the specialized state-owned non-bank financial institution said.
Kamal said that the online loan disbursement system is obviously a great initiative that would make the loan repayment process easier for clients.
The digital banking system would also reduce the hassle customers face, he said.
Kamal said the government would increase the authorized and paid-up capital of BHBFC to Tk 1,000 crore and Tk 500 crore respectively.
BHBFC Managing Director Md Afzal Karim said that the money in the client’s own account at Sonali Bank could also be instantly transferred to the loan through the system.
When a deposit or transfer is made, depositors instantly receive a confirmation of the transaction as well as the latest balance by automatically generated voucher and SMS, he said.
